Brett Engelhard is VP of Business Development with Meredith Commercial Real Estate Advisors. He focuses exclusively on real estate assets within the hospitality industry. He has more than 20 years of hospitality experience in business acquisition, financing, business plan development and implementation, renovation and repositioning of hospitality real estate opportunities, management, franchise negotiations, marketing, sales, P.R., promotions and special events experience.
Brett was the Owner/Managing Director of Canopy Palms Resort on Singer Island Florida from 1998 to 2004. He implemented a multimillion dollar renovation of the 125 room hotel and repositioned the property as Palm Beach’s only rock ‘n roll boutique resort. He successfully re-entitled the property for a 300 unit condo hotel project called the Resort at Singer Island (the current Marriott Resort at Singer Island).
He was the Owner/Managing Director of Wyndham Riverwalk Hotel in Jacksonville Florida from 2001 to 2012. He identified and acquired the 322 room Radisson Riverwalk Hotel located on 16 waterfront acres along the St. Johns River which had 35,000 ft.² of flexible meeting and function space. He implemented a multimillion dollar renovation. In 2006 in an effort to maximize the usage of the large meeting facilities he rebranded the hotel as the Wyndham Jacksonville Riverwalk Hotel which increased annual revenues from $10 million to $12 million in the first year. Brett successfully up zoned the parcel creating a master planned development (PUD) allowing for a 259 stories, 2000 residential units 190,000 ft.² of retail and office, 2 waterfront restaurants and a 300 slip marina.
Brett was the Owner/Managing Member of the Gulfstream Hotel in Lake Worth Florida from 2003 to 2005. He implemented a multimillion dollar renovation of the Historic 106 room hotel repositioning it as an upscale intimate boutique hotel overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway. He increased revenue by over 150% in the first year. The hotel was ultimately sold to a development company.
Brett earned his Associate of Arts Degree at the University of Florida and his Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management at Florida International University.
