Prior to joining Meredith Mergers Eugene Boros held various positions within the chemicals industry. His expertise is in taking marginal businesses and making them profitable, or packaging them for sale. To accomplish the  turnarounds he conducted: strategic business analysis, competitive assessments, strategy development, technology and organizational alignment, work process simplification and productivity improvement and, when necessary, downsizing and restructuring. During his 31 years with Union Carbide Corporation – a $6 billion NYSE company, he held various positions with full P & L responsibility, including Vice President, Research & Development, and Chairman of the Technology Council (1998 – 1999). While Vice President and General Manager, Specialty Polymers and Products (1993 – 1998), he was responsible for a portfolio of specialty chemicals with worldwide sales, which increased from $500 million to $1 billion. As Vice President and General Manager, Specialty Chemicals (1987 – 1993), he was responsible for a portfolio of specialty chemicals with worldwide sales, which increased from $300 million to $500 million. Other positions included: Vice President, New Business / New Ventures, Solvents & Coatings Materials (1986 – 1987); President, Agricultural Products (1985 – 1986); Vice President, Director of R & D, Agricultural Products (1981 – 1985); Associate Director, Agricultural Products (1980 – 1981); Group Leader / Technology Manager, Agricultural Products (1976 – 1980); and Research Chemist (1968 – 1976). From 1966 to 1968 he was an Instructor of Chemistry at Washington State University. Mr. Boros earned his B. S. in Chemistry from the University of Illinois, and his Ph. D. in Inorganic Chemistry from Iowa State University.
