Prior to joining Meredith Mergers John McGrath held the following positions: From 1981 to 1995 he was Managing Partner of Ernst & Young, LLP in Syracuse, New York. He was in charge of the firms Entrepreneurial Services Practice for Upstate New York. He specialized in mergers and acquisitions of both private and publicly traded corporations. He was the lead advisor on five (5) acquisition transactions and nine (9) sale/divestiture transactions totaling in excess of $2 billion dollars. A few of his personal clients (publicly traded) were: PayChex, Raymond Corporation, Divi Hotels, Gleason Corporation, P&C Foods, Hardinge Brothers, Inc. and Lipe Rollway Corporation.  From 1970 to 1981 he was Managing Partner/Owner of McGrath & Company – a CPA Firm with three New York Offices, seven partners and thirty-five professionals.  McGrath & Company was sold to Ernst & Young in 1981.  From 1964 to 1970 he was Supervisor of Audit Staff at Ernst & Young.  He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.  Mr. McGrath earned his B.B.A. in Accounting at LeMoyne College where he was the President of the Accounting Society.
